Recent Healthy Things

It has been a few weeks full of endless smoothie bowls, CrossFit PR's, and a whole lot of Kombucha! Here are a few things I've been loving lately!

{Daily smoothie bowl! Current favorite toppings-coconut, pumpkin seeds, and mulberries!}
 {The best Kombucha flavor yet! Bonus-they sell it at publix now!}
 {The best way to recover after CrossFit ;) }
 {Healthified my planner didn't I?}
 {The current B12 I'm taking. Doesn't taste too bad thankfully. I should have been taking this stuff my whole life!}
{My newest addition to my fitness wardrobe!}

Don't give up on this blog! Thank you so much to everyone who has stuck around! I'll get myself together! I promise ;).

Healthy March Favorites

March marked the beginning of Spring and a new season of healthy living. Cheers to the season of fresh fruit, refreshing smoothies, getting outside, and soaking up the sun (or avoiding getting sun burnt).

 -Suja Cold Pressed Juices. I am obsessed with these! Especially the "Green Delight" flavor. It's so refreshing and instantly makes my skin glow! I pick these whenever I feel under the weather and they perk my mood right up!

-Kombucha "Gingerade". Oh my gosh, I have a new addiction! I've had like 5 of these in the past week! I've wanted to try kombucha for a long time now but I've always been a little afraid of the taste. I finally found one that I could actually swallow and it is amazing! It is such a treat to drink, especially knowing all the health benefits! Lots of healthy probiotics! Drink these up!

-Eat Pretty. I bought this book this month as a little treat for myself. Although it hasn't taught me anything new it was still a delight to read! I want to try a few of her recipes. Also the art work in this book is beautiful. :)

-Jason Tea Tree Deodorant. I've found a natural deodorant that I like! It smells like a spa, haha. At first it burned my under arms but now my skin has adjusted and is used to it. This doesn't contain any aluminum so it's definitely a winner!

-Yes To Coconuts Eczema Relief Spray. I have had eczema my whole life but since eating a cleaner diet (cutting out dairy, refined sugar, etc.) it is no where near what it used to be! I'll only have a rare break out in the winter months due to just having severely dry skin. I love to use this spray after I get out of the shower as it is very hydrating to my skin without being too harsh. This will be great for the summer as it is also pretty refreshing.

-Hemp Seeds. I bought a small bag during march to try out. I put them on top of salads and smoothies. They don't really taste like anything and you can hardly notice them, but for being a whole protein that's pretty amazing! I'm a fan!

-Frozen Raspberries. I put them in all of my smoothies! They just make it so much better! I don't even want to know how many bags I've gone through. :o

-Dried Mulberries. I eat them like candy! They are soo addictive! Again, I top my smoothies with these. They add an extra crunch and flavor that is just amazing!

-Salsa. I cannot be trusted with salsa! I'll eat it in spoonfuls! Pair it with Beanitos and you've got my idea of a perfect snack!

-The CrossFit Open. I finished it!! It was hard (especially the last workout, I'm still recovering) but I still did it! I don't know where I rank in the world yet but for the last few weeks I've been pretty happy with where I stand, especially since it is only my first year! I can't wait to watch the CrossFit games this year!

And there you go, my March healthy favorites! What are some of your healthy (or non healthy) favorites of this month?!

Current Fitness Favorites

-Foam Roller. I've had this thing for a couple years now. I have love/hate relationship with it. sometimes it helps and other times it makes things worse. I use it to crack my back all the time, it feels amazing and puts everything back in line.

-The "Stick". I got this at the CrossFit regionals in 2011(?). It is pretty much my best friend! I prefer this over the foam roller as it doesn't hurt quite as much. This has gotten me through so many dance conventions/competitions when my hips were inflamed. It got passed around a lot (who knows how many different body parts it's touched) so I like that you can throw it in the dish washer and not worry about all the germs/sweat/tiger balm on it.

-Myo Breathe products. More purchases from the CrossFit games. I love the muscle relief spray! I use this when I can't sleep at night. I just spray where it hurts and it temporarily cools/burns the area and it feels pretty amazing/excruciating. Best description ever, right? I also love their hand repair cream for when my hands rip (lovely times, let me tell you.)

-Fit Bit. I got this for Christmas this year and I am a little embarrassed to say that I have worn it everyday since! It's just so fascinating to see how much you are really moving. It's quite satisfying when I'm in the middle of a workout and my bracelet starts vibrating (weird). It keeps you accountable to stay off your lazy booty.

-Quest Bars. I'm not kidding when I say I've been eating these before they were "cool". I'm not a huge protein bar consumer as most of them are total junk but these are an exception. I was introduced to them about 4 years ago by a fellow dance friend from NY. I still only have them very rarely but when I do it's definitely a treat. I pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds for an amazing gooey like cookie thing (again with the descriptions). My favorite flavors are chocolate chip cookie dough, cookies and cream, and apple pie! :)

-Wheel Thing (or "evil wheel"). This thing is pretty gnarly. If you're wanting to tighten your mid section/abs then this is the way! I used to do 200 sit ups everyday in high school. What a waste. All you do is hold onto the wheel and slowly roll out as far as you can, and then back in again. Do about 3 sets of 10 and you will feel it (for days)!

-Inov8s. I'm one of the few people I know that hasn't gone the reebok nano route. I have very small and (apparently) narrow feet so when I tried these on they instantly felt good. They hold and support my feet perfectly. They're super light for running. They also don't get in the way if you know what I mean. Like when I do box jumps they just don't bother me or anything. I'm notorious for tripping/falling during box jumps but since using these I don't have as much trouble (maybe its placebo?). As for lifting yeah they're not great, but I currently don't have any lifting shoes so these work fine for now.

And those are some of my current fitness favorites! Sorry this post was quite lengthy (I blame listening to Daft Punk whilst writing, I get a little hyper/inspired ;)
What are some of your fitness favorites?!
