Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Nice Cream

Get ready for something heavenly!
Do you ever just have those insane chocolate/peanut butter cravings?! And you hold them all day until you just can't stop getting around the fact that you are not going to get through the day without giving in?! Yea me too. Don't worry you don't have to spoil your whole day eating clean to enjoy yourself. Here I have my emergency peanut butter cookie dough nice cream! This is all natural, vegan, gluten free, etc.

Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Nice Cream

Ingredients:
-2-3 frozen bananas
-1 tbsp pb2 (or natural peanut butter)
-1 tbsp cacao powder
-3 dates
-enjoy life chocolate chips to top.

Method:
-blend bananas, pb2, and dates with water until you get a thick ice cream texture.
-take out half the mixture, set aside.
-blend the rest with cacao powder.
-top with dairy free chocolate chips.
Trust me, this is going to hit your sweet spot, while still giving good nutrients. The dates give it chunky like dough pieces that are just plain addictive! My mouth is watering just thinking about it ;).

Mid Day Pick Me Up

Around 5pm i start to lack a little energy. It's about 2 hours after lunch but still 3 hours away from dinner for me. I'm not hungry per say but I defineltely need something to keep me going. In times like this I always count on green juices/berry smoothies. They're filling while still being quite light and provide lots of energy.

Mid day berry power smoothie

Ingredients:
-1/2 cup mixed frozen fruit (whatever is your favorite combination)
-1/2-1 cup frozen blueberries
-1 date
-1 cup mixed greens (I ran out so they're not pictured)
-water to blend
-dried mulberries to top

Method:
Throw into to blender and blend until desired consistency.
This is really refreshing and again filling at the same time!! The mulberries on top bring it all together. This usually holds me over until dinner. Let me know if you try it out! :)

Healthy March Favorites

March marked the beginning of Spring and a new season of healthy living. Cheers to the season of fresh fruit, refreshing smoothies, getting outside, and soaking up the sun (or avoiding getting sun burnt).

-Suja Cold Pressed Juices. I am obsessed with these! Especially the "Green Delight" flavor. It's so refreshing and instantly makes my skin glow! I pick these whenever I feel under the weather and they perk my mood right up!

-Kombucha "Gingerade". Oh my gosh, I have a new addiction! I've had like 5 of these in the past week! I've wanted to try kombucha for a long time now but I've always been a little afraid of the taste. I finally found one that I could actually swallow and it is amazing! It is such a treat to drink, especially knowing all the health benefits! Lots of healthy probiotics! Drink these up!

-Eat Pretty. I bought this book this month as a little treat for myself. Although it hasn't taught me anything new it was still a delight to read! I want to try a few of her recipes. Also the art work in this book is beautiful. :)

-Jason Tea Tree Deodorant. I've found a natural deodorant that I like! It smells like a spa, haha. At first it burned my under arms but now my skin has adjusted and is used to it. This doesn't contain any aluminum so it's definitely a winner!

-Yes To Coconuts Eczema Relief Spray. I have had eczema my whole life but since eating a cleaner diet (cutting out dairy, refined sugar, etc.) it is no where near what it used to be! I'll only have a rare break out in the winter months due to just having severely dry skin. I love to use this spray after I get out of the shower as it is very hydrating to my skin without being too harsh. This will be great for the summer as it is also pretty refreshing.

-Hemp Seeds. I bought a small bag during march to try out. I put them on top of salads and smoothies. They don't really taste like anything and you can hardly notice them, but for being a whole protein that's pretty amazing! I'm a fan!

-Frozen Raspberries. I put them in all of my smoothies! They just make it so much better! I don't even want to know how many bags I've gone through. :o

-Dried Mulberries. I eat them like candy! They are soo addictive! Again, I top my smoothies with these. They add an extra crunch and flavor that is just amazing!

-Salsa. I cannot be trusted with salsa! I'll eat it in spoonfuls! Pair it with Beanitos and you've got my idea of a perfect snack!

-The CrossFit Open. I finished it!! It was hard (especially the last workout, I'm still recovering) but I still did it! I don't know where I rank in the world yet but for the last few weeks I've been pretty happy with where I stand, especially since it is only my first year! I can't wait to watch the CrossFit games this year!

And there you go, my March healthy favorites! What are some of your healthy (or non healthy) favorites of this month?!

Healthy Habits To Try

-Dry Brushing. Ooh the craze. Honestly though, despite the craze it is truly amazing. If you don't know what dry brushing is then I will explain.

Step 1: buy a dry brush. I got mine at target for $3.99.

Step 2: starting from the very bottom of your body, brush in small circles towards your heart working all the way up to your neck.

Step 3: jump in shower and wash your body as usual (hopefully usual ;)).

What this does is circulates your blood flow so your body is able to rid off toxins more easily. It also is an amazing exfoliant and makes your skin very soft. It can also reduce cellulite and stretch marks.

-Foam Rolling. I know I said I have a love/hate relationship with foam rolling but I think I am just the minority. It is great, again for releasing toxins/build up in your inflamed muscles. Its also great for putting everything back in place (cracking my back, etc), I don't know if that's the purpose but it's what I use it for ;).

-Pumpkin Seeds. I don't eat meat and sometimes at the end of the day I notice I haven't had enough protein, zinc, etc. so I grab a handful of pumpkin seeds. They are loaded with natural protein, zinc, copper and more! They're also a really great detox if your needing more fiber. Plus they're pretty filling. I have about 1/4 a cup a day and notice a huge difference when I don't have them in my diet.

-Coconut Oil. Not just for food but for your face too! I have had eczema my whole life but since eating a cleaner diet and using only coconut oil on my face in the last two years it hasn't been any where near as bad as it used to be! I'll only have a rare break out in the winter months when my skin is super dry. My favorite coconut facial oils are Yes To Coconuts Eczema Relief Spray and Capri Clear

I know these aren't any ground breaking habits or anything but I just wanted to share my two cents and experience on the subjects :).  These work for so maybe they'll work for you!
